Which casinos hold a licence, and who says so

All sixteen checked against the regulators’ own records on 25 September and 4 October 2026. Fifteen are on them; one states a licence; five brands were dropped.

On 25 September and 4 October 2026 we checked every operator we list against the regulators’ own records: the Curaçao Gaming Authority’s domain certificates and its register of 21 September 2026, and the Anjouan Gaming public licence register. We also read the operators’ own sites where they would load from our location, and used web research to find leads, which we then checked on the registers. Fifteen of the sixteen appear on a regulator’s own records — for five of them, on a domain the register lists that we matched to the brand name; we have not confirmed that our affiliate links land on those domains. One more, TrustStake, states a licence on its own pages only. Five other brands we first looked at show no licence anywhere we looked, and we no longer list them.

What did our licence checks find for the 16 casinos?

None of these is a Gambling Commission licence, and none makes an operator authorised to serve customers in Great Britain. A licence from Curaçao or Anjouan tells you who regulates the operator and where a complaint about its conduct can go — not that British law allows it to take British customers.

Curaçao: active certificates, licences still under assessment

Each licensed Curaçao site should link to a certificate on the regulator’s own domain, cert.cga.cw. We opened those certificates on 25 September 2026. The ones for zizobet.com, cosmobet.com and velobet.com name Santeda International B.V. and licence OGL/2024/1798/1048, granted on 14 August 2024; the one for betmac.com names Sefiarray B.V. and OGL/2024/842/0350, granted on 25 July 2025. All four say Active.

The Authority’s own register, dated 21 September 2026, tells a less settled story. It lists both licences with the status Assessment in progress — Santeda’s with dates from 24 June to 24 December 2025, Sefiarray’s from 25 January to 25 July 2026. Curaçao has been moving operators onto its new licensing law since 24 December 2024, and we read this as licences still going through that assessment, but we have not been able to confirm what the two statuses mean together. We report both, with their dates.

TrustStake names the same company and licence as Betmac on its own pages, and the licence appears on the register under that company. We found no certificate naming a TrustStake domain, and its own terms describe the licence application as in progress — which is why the comparison shows it as Curaçao (stated).

Anjouan: what the register shows, and what it does not

Anjouan Gaming publishes a public register of the licences it has issued, with the company, the status, the issue and expiry dates and the domains covered. Eleven of the brands we list appear on it, each on a domain the register names. For the five added on 4 October we matched the brand name to the domain the register lists; we have not confirmed that the affiliate link lands on that domain.

Two points need care. First, dates move. On 25 September 2026 the entries for Win Top Ltd (Spin Polo, Daytona Spin) and Softon Ltd (Smash Casino) were marked Valid while showing expiry dates that had just passed; on 4 October both showed new expiry dates in September 2027. We saw the register change, not the paperwork behind it, and 7Gear’s entry runs only to 23 October 2026, so check the date yourself. Second, Anjouan Gaming’s own complaints policy asks players to go to the operator first and then to an independent dispute resolution process; it says it does not mediate individual disputes itself. We have not been able to verify the governmental status or the enforceability of the Anjouan system, so treat its licence as information about who the operator is, not as protection.

Which five brands did we leave off, and why?

WinBeast, AmunBet, SlotoSport, Lilu Casino and Falcon Casino were on our first list. We removed them from the comparison on 4 October 2026 and replaced them with five brands from the same affiliate programme that do appear on the Anjouan register: Rivo Casino, Kingdom Casino, Aphrodite Casino, SlotRoyals and Zombillion. The five removed brands do not appear on the Curaçao or Anjouan registers under their names or domains, and we found no licence named on any of their own pages. Several of these sites refuse visitors from our location, so part of this rests on web research into their terms rather than our own reading. Third-party pages attach Costa Rican companies to three of them: “PrimeTier Limited” for WinBeast, and registration numbers in the form 3-102-… for SlotoSport and Lilu Casino. We have not verified those companies, and a company registration would not be a gambling licence in any case. Searches for the reported names and numbers returned no match on the Curaçao register of 21 September 2026 or on the Anjouan register on 25 September 2026.

“None found” is not proof that no licence exists. It means we found none in the sources we searched — which is the position you would be in before depositing.

If you were planning to spread a balance across brands to reduce your exposure, it is worth knowing when they sit on one licence held by one company.

What if the casino uses a numbered mirror domain?

Registers list the domains a licence covers. Several of these operators actually run on numbered copies of their main address — Wildies on addresses such as wildies177.com, Betmac on betmac3.com — and those copies are not the domains the registers and certificates name. If the address in your browser is not the one on the certificate or register entry, ask the operator in writing which licence covers it.

Why we corrected our first casino licence check

Our first automated pass, on 23 and 24 September, read the footer text at the addresses we had on file. For eight brands those addresses turned out not to be the operator’s own site: some were parked or unused domains, others were sites about the brand. That is why the first pass found so few licences. This version checks the regulators’ own records directly, and nothing from those eight addresses is used.

How to check a casino licence on official records

  1. Find the licence in the footer or terms. It should name the regulator and the licensed company, not just show a badge.
  2. For Curaçao, open the certificate from the regulator’s side. It should load on cert.cga.cw and name the domain you are on.
  3. For Anjouan, search the register on the regulator’s own site for the licence number, the company or the domain.
  4. Check the status and the dates, not just that an entry exists.

The full walkthrough is here, and it works on any operator, not only the ones we list.

None of these operators takes part in GamStop. A GamStop exclusion does not reach them, and none of the licences we found is British. If you registered with GamStop because gambling was harming you, a licence check is not the thing that makes this safe. Blocking tools and support are here, and the National Gambling Helpline is free and open 24 hours on 0808 8020 133.

Common questions

Does “none found” mean the casino is unlicensed?

Not necessarily. It means we found no licence on the operator’s own pages or on the Curaçao and Anjouan registers. A licence could exist somewhere we did not look — but it is not shown anywhere a customer could reasonably check before depositing.

Why does the certificate say Active when the register says assessment in progress?

We do not know for certain. The Curaçao Gaming Authority has been moving operators onto its new licensing law, and the register’s status appears to reflect an assessment that has not finished. We report both, with dates, rather than choosing one.

Is an Anjouan licence as good as a Curaçao one?

Neither is a British licence, and neither guarantees you will be paid. Anjouan Gaming publishes a register and says individual disputes go to the operator and then to an ADR process; we have not verified the governmental status or enforceability of its system.
